Here is a program that I watched as a child. If i had only continued my study of German that I started as a 4 year old. Instead I took French in high school and learned Spanish for work in my 20's.

This very entertaining show keeps your interest. It was already a rerun when I saw the program in the late 70's.
After a trip to Berlin in 2011 where my mother-in-law resides, I have a renewed interest in learning the language.
